A man who fly tipped household waste and who was caught on CCTV at a location in Walsall has been ordered to pay £1,691.59.
Having pocketed £20 to dispose of a blue and white double mattress and two builders bags filled with assorted household waste, Mr. Avery of Thorn Close, Wednesbury was caught on CCTV fly tipping the waste from the back of his mothers Citroen Berlingo van on Wallows Lane Walsall.
On 1 February Mr Avery pleaded guilty at Walsall Magistrates Court and was fined £600 and ordered to pay £1,031.59 costs, with a victim surcharge of £60.
Councillor Adrian Andrew, Deputy Leader said: "This man narrowly escaped being banned from driving which is one of the penalties at the courts disposal.
“This blatant kind of criminal activity shows a total disregard for the law abiding residents of Walsall and will not be tolerated in Walsall.”
