Walsall’s Big Spring Clean

Last updated: 15/05/2015 16:43:00

Walsall Council calls for volunteers to help with this year’s big spring clean.

Monday 18 May 2015 marks the beginning of a 6 week long clean up ending the week beginning Monday 22 June 2015.

Each week Walsall Council will be running a Big Spring Clean, which will see a range of environmental and community activities undertaken across the Borough.

John Morris area manager for Walsall South which begins the campaign stated: “The Big Spring Clean is a chance for residents to help make a difference to their local environment. We can all do our bit to maintain standards but this is a chance to make an enduring impact upon the places that we all share.”

Each week an Area Partnership location will be targeted and will involve local groups and residents, working with the council and partner organisations to tidy and improve identified locations and green spaces.

Kate Bowers Interim Head of Communities and Public Protection stated: “This form of collaborative partnership working can make a significant difference to local communities. Through organisations and residents pulling together to make improvements in this way communities have shown year after year the pride they have in their own neighbourhoods.”

The first week will be focused on Walsall South (covering the Wards of Paddock, Palfrey, Pleck and St Matthew’s)
