Your Christmas Rubbish and Recycling arrangements

Last updated: 17/12/2015 09:36:08

Households whose normal collections of general household waste and recycling will be affected by the Christmas, and New Year bank holidays will be allowed to put out additional rubbish when crews next visit.

Crews will be working as normal with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Households due to receive a collection on Monday 28 December have also had their day rescheduled.

Arrangements for households due to receive collections of general household waste (grey bin) and green bin (recycling) on these days are as follows:-

Friday 25 December. Collections will now be Monday 28 December.

Monday 28 December. Collections will now be Monday 4 January.

Friday 1 January. Collections will now be Friday 8 January

Please note three additional bags of general household waste will be allowed but extra bags of recycling will not be accepted, but residents can take additional recycling to their local tip for processing.

For operational reasons the additional bags of rubbish will be removed by a different crew, so don’t be concerned if  bags are not collected at the same time as your bin is emptied

Both the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Fryers Road, Leamore, and Merchants Way, Aldridge, will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Both tips will be open for an additional day but on New Year ’s Eve they will both close at 4pm. Normal operating hours will apply on all other days.
