Waste collections are continuing in Walsall today although overnight freezing temperatures mean that only main roads will be completed.
Crews are out today in Brownhills, Pelsall, Rushall, Walsall Wood and parts of Blakenall, Aldridge, Harden, Shelfield and Clayhanger.
Where grey bins are missed today, waste crews will collect up to three black bags of excess next Monday (28 January 2013). For green recycling bins it will revert to a normal fortnights collection for next week and no extra recycling should be put out.
Waste bosses have urged residents to be patient, as inevitably there will be some areas where collections will not be possible.
Side roads and those that are untreated are particularly inaccessible due to icy conditions and temperatures are not expected to be above freezing all day.
Councillor Tom Ansell, portfolio holder for the environment and transport at Walsall Council Coalition said: "The roads continue to be treacherous in some areas so imagine what it's like to be behind the wheel of a 26 tonne refuse truck.
"Crews are doing their best to complete their rounds but inevitably there'll be some areas that they just can't access."
