On Saturday 28 June 2008, Christine Clifton of the Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham Beekeepers Association will be coming along to Walsall Museum to give a talk on bees and bee-keeping.

Visitors attending the talk will be able to learn more about the popular hobby of bee-keeping, discover how bees make wax and honey, find out about their crucial importance to our environment, and gain tips on how bee-keepers care for their bees and avoid those nasty stings!

Christine will be bringing along an empty hive, equipment, bee suit and veil, some different honeys- not for tasting, and hive products such as wax.

The talk will take place in the morning at 11am, and again in the afternoon at 2pm.

The talk has been programmed in as part of Walsall Museum’s ‘A Walk in the Park’ exhibition, which explores the history of the Borough’s green spaces, and looks at wildlife and environmental issues.
