Dog warden

The Dog Warden Service in Walsall consists of two dog wardens; Sidney Stuart-Thompson and Vicky Pratley and comes under the Public Health Team, Public Protection, Walsall Council.

The dog wardens have a number of main responsibilities, which include:

  • Seize and return of stray dogs.
  • Enforcement of the Dogs Fouling of Land Act (1996).
  • Undertake public engagements and presentations.
  • Advise owners on dog training and behaviour.
  • Inspect pet shops, boarding and breeding establishments.
  • Enforcement of the litter legislation.
