Walsall Libraries Black History Month Special 2008 Celebrations

Walsall Libraries will be celebrating Black History Month again at Walsall Central Library, Lichfield Street, Walsall, on the 16th October starting at 5.45pm-8pm with talented author and poet, Victor Richards, who will be talking about and performing his new poetry trilogy book, “Streets paved with gold”.
There will be
- Question and answer sessions
- Free prize draws & refreshments!
- Jazz/funk band and Poetry, music/readings, book signings and more!!!
It is the 60th anniversary this year of the first Caribbean immigrants who arrived in Britain aboard the SS Empire Windrush.
Victor Richards’s parents were among the thousands of West Indians arriving in post-war Britain full of hopes, dreams and the promise of new lives.
