Travel passes

The Council does not provide concessionary travel passes, as these are administered by Centro on behalf of the West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority for all residents of the West Midlands.

Older Person's Travel Pass

The older persons bus pass entitles the holder to concessionary travel on buses, trains, tramlink/DLR and metrolink. Those over the age of 60 are entitled to receive a free bus pass.

The free pass enables free travel on bus, rail and Metro services in the West Midlands County from 0930 hrs until the end of daytime service on Monday to Friday and anytime at weekends and on Bank Holidays.

Applicants will need to provide:

  • Proof of age
  • Residence in the West Midlands
  • Two passport sized colour photographs

Disabled Person's Travel Pass

Centro also operates a free travel pass scheme, available to blind and disabled people who are residents of the West Midlands County, who meet the criteria detailed in the application form.

The Permit entitles the holder to travel on bus, rail and Metro services in the West Midlands County from 0930 hrs until the end of daytime service on Monday to Friday and anytime at weekends and on Bank Holidays.
