Library Link Service
What is the Library Link service?
The Library Link service is an integral part of Walsall’s Mobile Library Services, and has been in existence since 1988. Library Link provides a service to people in Homes, Day Centres, Sheltered Accommodation, Hospitals and Training Centre’s on a monthly timetable.
The Library Link mobile library has a lift for easier access for wheelchair users or anyone who has difficulty in using steps.
Customers using our service can visit the vehicle to select their own materials or, if they have mobility problems, a member of Library Link staff will visit them in their own home, taking a selection of books and tapes. We keep profiles of our Library Link stops to help us select appropriate materials for our customers.
Where do we visit?
Our timetable provides details of times and place we visit and operates on a four week basis. Please note the times are approximate as the next stop is visited once all customers have been served.
What materials do we carry?
Customers can borrow as many materials as they need.
Our stock includes:
- A range of adult fiction titles in large and regular print
- Popular non-fiction titles including biographies, history, travel, health, crafts, hobbies, and home & garden
- Talking books
- Recorded music (Compact Discs and Music Cassettes)
- Jigsaws (Small and Large Pieces)
- Reminiscence materials (available to staff at the sites we visit)
- “What’s On” information
- Council Information
- Local Information and public notices
Profiles are kept of all stops so that customers with particular needs are served.
There is no charge for any materials, and there is no charge for requesting any items.
