The Groovy UV Entertainment Company is a private puppetry company based near Walsall town centre specializing in high-impact, extremely visual Ultra-Violet ‘glow-in-the-dark’ puppetry.
Started in 1995, Groovy UV quickly established itself as the UK No.1 touring Blacklight Theatre Company working worldwide from Brazil to the Ukraine and throughout Britain. UK credits include P&O cruises, Sky television, ITV1, Butlins, Pontins, Haven, The London Palladium, Her Majesty’s Theatre (London) and The Theatre Royal (Drury Lane Theatre, London).
We also supply workshops, shows and equipment locally to Gazebo Theatre, Stagecoach Theatre Arts plc and Dudley Zoo.
In 2006 Groovy UV moved into the area of education bringing flexibility, experience and expertise to provide a unique, dynamic and inspirational support service to schools, colleges, community centres etc. in the local area.

The goal of Groovy UV is to inspire and educate young people using puppetry and puppet-making, with particular emphasis on the unusual and innovative branch of UV (glow-in-the-dark) puppetry.
From conventional puppet-related workshops to inter-school community cohesion projects – from ‘Boys Into Books’ literacy programmes to ‘Recycling’ issues through puppet-making/ performance using puppets made from waste materials and household items – our speciality in Blacklight UV techniques expands beyond the normal reach of educative puppetry activities, challenging young people to quite literally see and do things in a different light.
