Service standards

What are the service standards for Strategic Housing?

Strategic Housing Service Standards

Service plan

Through the development of service plans the Councils' vision and priorities for improvement are translated into a set of clear actions and tasks, with clear measures and timescales.

Service plans provide a framework for managers to give a clear direction to staff about work priorities and to discuss, agree and manage work plans and targets for each member of staff.

Staff are the Council’s most valuable asset and it is essential that all our efforts are focussed on doing the things that matter most.

The actions in the service plan will, in most instances, be underpinned by more detailed team plans, project plans and individual work plans.

Service plans are not something to put on the shelf once they have been prepared. They are working documents that managers and their teams review on a regular basis to assess progress, identify where there are problems and plan corrective action to ensure that performance targets are achieved, but also to recognise and celebrate success.

Comprehensive Performance Assessment

Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) is about helping local councils improve local services for their communities.

CPA looks at how well the council delivers their services, for example education, social care and housing. It also considers how the council is run as this will impact on how well they deliver their services in the future.
