Chasing Fate at Birmingham Hippodrome

Date Published : 06 October 2008

Chasing Fate

‘Chasing Fate’ is a new piece of musical theatre created for and by a group of 70 exceptional young people from across Walsall and the Black Country who have worked for the past two years with a team of experts from London’s West End, television and New York’s Broadway.

Heavily involved are the Councils Creative Development Team and Connexions working alongside colleagues from Leaps and Bounds who last brought us the outstanding BalletHoo! The cast of ‘Chasing Fate’ blends established professional performers with the young people who are appearing in a professional production for the first time.

‘Chasing Fate’ has worked exclusively with disadvantaged and at risk young people aged 15 to19. The project is making extraordinary changes in their lives. 16 young people from Walsall will be on the stage of the Birmingham Hippodrome on the evening of 17 October and a matinee and evening performance on Saturday 18 October.

The show is about how in life, the choices we make can become defining moments.

Tonight 16 year old Sam looks into the eyes of fate and races against time to discover the truth about his own choices. Gangs, dares, deals and comic strip heroes...join Sam as he finds his own way, and weighs the cost of his choice.

I do hope that you will join us to celebrate the achievements of this inspiring group of young people.

Ticket prices are between £10 and £15.
