Mental health

Walsall has a range of services for people who have concerns about their own or someone else's mental health. We can offer you advice, support and if necessary access to treatment.

Most people at some time will experience some type of mental health problem, for example, following the breakdown of a relationship, death of a loved one, pressures of work/study or unemployment. The difference between these unhappy but normal feelings and mental illness is usually the intensity and duration of these feelings and the effects they have on our ability to get on with our daily lives.

With the right care and support, many people who have experienced mental illness, whether for a short time or for longer periods throughout their lives, are able to live happy, positive and meaningful lives; study, work, travel and enjoy social and leisure activities among family and friends.

Walsall's Mental Health Services, a partnership between Walsall Social Care and Supported Housing and Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust, can help you or some one you care for to receive the right support at the right time.
