Up and coming community consultation
For us to understand how we can help improve Walsall as a place to live work and play, we may occasionally ask for your help. This section will let you know of any community consultation we are currently undertaking as well as previous results.
Brand new and improved store for Brownhills
Tesco would like to replace the existing store in Brownhills town centre and are inviting the public to come and view the proposals.
The proposals include:
- A brand new store with additional parking
- New retail units
- Brand new town houses and apartments
- Additional jobs for local people
An in-store exhibition, where detailed proposals will be available to view and comment on, will be held on:
- Thursday 6 November 2008, 10am to 6pm
- Friday 7 November 2008, 10am to 7pm
- Saturday 8 November 2008, 10am to 2pm

Transforming Walsall Wood
In February 2008 Walsall Council asked the community of Walsall Wood how we could transform Walsall Wood.
The 3 main opportunities identified by the community were:
- Pavement resurfacing
- Enhancing the Village Green
- Providing parking for shoppers at the Lorry Park
The council, with help from local traders and residents, have developed the following proposals:
- Pavement improvements (shown on the following plans)
- Enhancing the Village Green (PDF 1MB)
- Improvments to Brooklands Road and Coppice Road open spaces (PDF 1.6MB)
- Improvements to the landscaping around Walsall Wood’s new library (PDF 1MB)
- Changes to the use of the lorry park at Beech Tree Road (PDF 1.6MB)
Please use the Walsall Wood Improvement Comments Scheme to let us know your views on all of these proposals.
The proposals are also on display at Walsall Wood Library on the following days:
- Monday 8 September 2008: between 10am - 6pm
- Wednesday 10 September 2008: between 10am - 6pm
- Friday 12 September 2008: between 10am - 6pm
- Saturday 13 September 2008: between 10am - 4pm

Have your say on homes scheme
Families have been urged to have their say on proposals to build almost 200 new homes as part of an ambitious plan to revitalise a Walsall community.
Walsall Council has joined forces with residents and partner organisations to regenerate the wider Birchills area.
