Camp trust holiday courses

Holiday courses

These take place during school holidays and are set up and funded by The Camp Trust. They offer young people from Walsall the opportunity to come to the centre for a holiday. These are not Outdoor Activity courses, but are designed to be action packed and great fun, with many trips and games taking place on and off site. Some examples of the Holiday activities and trips are:-

  • farm visits
  • beach visits
  • blue Planet aquarium
  • chester Zoo
  • local Swimming Pools
  • treasure Trails
  • local Walks
  • Llangollen Town visits
  • canal Trips
  • steam Railway Trips
  • country Parks
  • local Castle Visits

The trips are run by the Staff who come away with the group, with support from one of the Bryntysilio Teachers. During the Summer holidays, we also have some very active and enthusiastic Summer Staff, who can help organise and run many of the on site activities and games.

These Holiday weeks are always very enjoyable and memorable, and if you would like further information about bringing a group along on a Holiday Course, please contact The Camp Trust at the following address:-

Conservation week at Bryntysilio

conservation week at BryntysilioDuring every February half term, a team of volunteers come up from Sneyd and Darlaston Schools, and spend the holiday trimming, chopping, moving, and tidying things around the centre grounds. They work in small teams and each year put in an amazing effort to keep the gardens looking so good. This all happens under the supervision and guidance of the very talented and green fingered Mr.Gaskin, who is the part-time gardener at the centre.

The group also spend a day offsite working with the local Countryside Warden, helping out on local environmental projects. This has proven to be a worthwhile and varied addition to Conservation week, allowing the centre to put something back into the local community. The recent activities have ranged from helping to clear rubbish from nearby beauty spots to building Otter Holts by the River Dee.

conservation at BryntysilioAs a reward for all the hard work, the groups also get to go on lots of fun packed trips to the beach, swimming pools and many other tourist attractions in the area.
