Refunds
Refunds will only be given to people whose illness prevents them from using public transport if the period of sick leave is longer than 4 weeks and copies of doctor’s notes are provided.
If the period of sick leave is expected to last longer than four weeks they must return their ticket to Travel West Midlands/Centro or the Administrator. No retrospective refund can be given.
Upon receipt the ticket is suspended until they notify the issuing administrators that they are returning to work. They will continue to have payments deducted from their salary/wages whilst they are off sick. When they return to work their ticket should be returned. They will receive a refund cheque, for the value of the weeks they did not use their ticket. A £5 administration fee will be deducted from the calculated refund. They then continue to use the ticket until it expires.
All refunds are at the discretion of TWM and Centro.
Cancelling your card
If you want to cancel the card, or leave the authority, you have to notify us on 01922 65 2563 or 2463 and surrender the card.
Unless we receive your card salary deductions will continue to be taken. The returned card will be valued by the travel company according to the whole weeks remaining and a refund will be made to the authority.
You will be charged extra if you cancel any TWM cards within the year as refunds are based on 90% of the price the Council was charged. Both companies charge a £5 administration fee for refunds. All refund cheques are made payable to Walsall MBC.
