Access to housing

Walsall Council, together with its housing association partners, will be launching the ‘Access to Housing’ booklet at the Saddlers Centre on Monday July 14 between 10am and 3pm.

The housing associations involved will also celebrate the launch by holding various events at their offices.

The booklet will provide you with information about the housing associations in Walsall, which areas in Walsall the housing associations have homes in, the type, how to apply and how they are allocated.

It also includes information about affordable home ownership options how to access accommodation if you have a disability and information about accredited private sector landlords.

Councillor Barbara McCracken, Walsall Council cabinet member for health and housing, said: “This new service will be a great help to anyone in Walsall looking for a home. People will have information about housing associations and areas they cover at their fingertips in this booklet."

“But one of the best features about this is that any applicants can fill in one registration of interest form, which could be shared with other associations – doing away with the need to keep filling in separate forms."
