Quick-thinking traders are on course to snap up all 80 stalls when Brownhills market is re-opened by Walsall Council.
Shoppers are set to head to the site off Silver Street on September 5 for the high-profile event.
Attractions are being planned for the first day to welcome back loyal shoppers.
Face painters, a stilt-walking clown, fairground rides and other attractions.
Councillor Mike Bird, Walsall Council Leader, said: “I’m really pleased to say that things are very well advanced for the opening of Brownhills market on September 5.
“A lot of hard work has gone into this and the reaction from traders and Brownhills people has been amazing.
“There is a real swell of support for this venture and it’s great to see people get behind it.
“We are on course to have all 80 stalls taken by traders. That’s fantastic news and something to really shout about.
“We also wanted to make a splash for the re-opening which is why there are things for all the family.
“We wanted to step into save Brownhills market because we believe in the town and it’s town centre. It will be great to see shoppers and traders new and old return on September 5 on what looks set to be a full house.”
Walsall Council stepped in to re-open the site after the previous occupant had ended its association.
Markets will take place every Tuesday and Saturday.
The authority has vowed to enforce the highest possible standards on goods sold and will be working closely with trading standards officers to ensure high standards.
