Integrated Children's Workforce Strategy 2009 - 2012
"We believe that all children and young people in Walsall have the right to be healthy, happy and safe, to be loved, valued and respected and have high aspirations for a successful future."
(Walsall Children's and Young People’s Plan 2009/10 – 2011/12)
To contribute towards this vision, children’s services recognise the importance of having a workforce who work together to deliver better outcomes. Workforce development is a key priority for us.
As part of the Children and Young People’s Plan we have made specific links to our workforce and have set clear targets. These being:
We will:
- Use the Children’s One Workforce Tool to collate evidence to assess the degree of integration of the children’s workforce in Walsall by Summer 2009
- Produce an new integrated workforce strategy by the end of 2009
- Improve recruitment and retention of social work staff
To date we have undertaken the Children's One Workforce Tool exercise and have now following significant consultation have completed the Integrated Children's Workforce Strategy.
