Walsall Housing Partnership
Walsall Housing Partnership (WHP) is a partnership made up of representatives from all housing associations who own properties in Walsall, the council, Housing Corporation website and National Housing Federation website. This partnership meets quarterly and assists the council to deliver its housing strategy.
The objectives of WHP are to:
- contribute to Walsall being a place of first choice for people to live and work
- be the primary vehicle for discussion, negotiation and joint working with Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council and other strategic bodies on all matters relating to the activities of housing associations operating in Walsall
- work with the Local Strategic Partnership and other partner agencies, to promote the critical role housing plays in the social and economic sustainability of Walsall
- source a detailed understanding of housing markets in Walsall and contribute to the development of evolving housing strategy, locally and regionally
- link housing development opportunities in a strategic way to community regeneration initiatives, within the priorities agreed by the Local Strategic Partnership
- develop and share best practice which can be used to create sustainable neighbourhoods reflecting local, regional and sub-regional priorities and aspirations
- co-ordinate the activities of social landlords with those of key players in neighbourhood regeneration through the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy, community Strategy, planning policy and local action plans
- produce strategic investment plans for priority actions.
