Shopmobility - town centre Walsall
Walsall Council proudly celebrates the second anniversary of Shopmobility -Town Centre Walsall, with 525 members and winning Walsall Disability Forum's Physical Disability award for 2008.
The service currently has scooters sponsored by Evans Halshaw Motability, Marks and Spencer, Co-op Ultra Travel and Mr N Kumar.
The service is provided by Walsall Council and based in the Saddlers Shopping Centre on Car Park on Level 1 for your convenience.
The Shopmobility service is designed to support people of all ages with mobility difficulties to visit the shops, markets, banking and leisure facilities in the town centre. The Saddlers Shopping Centre location provides excellent central disability parking provision and a drop off facility for taxis. In addition a member of staff is available to meet you from St. Paul’s Bus Station and the Ring &ande Ride Service bus stop in Bradford Place, just outside the centre.
We will provide an individual consultation, assessment and support tuition, to ensure your comfort and confidence in using the equipment provided. We are able to offer a choice of powered scooters, and powered and manual wheelchairs to best suit your needs.
Opening hours
Our opening days and times are:
- Monday from 9.30am - 4.30pm
- Tuesday from 9.30am - 4.30pm
- Wednesday from 9.30am- 4.30pm
- Friday from 9.30am - 4.30pm
- Saturday from 9.30am - 4.30pm
Bookings
Bookings for part and full days can be made, for which a small hire charge will be made of:
- 50 pence per hour up to 3 hours
- £2 maximum charge over 3 hours, up to a whole day.
Advance booking is recommended in order to avoid disappointment though not always essential.

Access arrangements to Saddlers Shopping Centre
- Access by car or taxi - via Bridgeman Street entrance to Saddlers Shopping Centre Car Park.
- Arrrive by Ring and Ride or bus - via Bradford Place pedestrian entrance, alternative access via Park Street entrance, to Saddlers Shopping Centre.
- Direct access by train into Saddlers Shopping Centre
