Walsall Museum needs your seaside souvenirs

Do you have any tacky souvenirs of a trip to the seaside lurking at home.
Maybe a novelty hat, a cheap mug, even a straw donkey. If so Walsall Museum would like to hear from you.
We’re looking for mementoes of people’s seaside holidays for our summer exhibition, Beside the Seaside. The exhibition will explore the traditions of the British seaside holiday, from a week at Rhyl to a day trip to Blackpool. Whether a seaside holiday for you means paddling in the sea, riding on a rollercoaster, building sandcastles or simply battling with the British weather, we want to make sure the exhibition reflects your experiences.
We want to find not only for souvenirs of people’s holidays, but also postcards, holiday photos, even a bathing costume or two to borrow from local people for display in our exhibition.
Beside the Seaside will be on show at Walsall Museum from 16 May to 12 September 2009.
