Shoppers, visitors and residents are being invited to enjoy a coffee break with the Mayor and Mayoress of Walsall.

A family coffee morning is being held in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Council House in Lichfield Street, on Saturday 11 July between 10am and noon.

The Mayor, Councillor John O’Hare, and Mayoress Diane Leese, are looking forward to welcoming guests and raising money for the Mayor’s charity appeal at the same time.

Councillor O’Hare said: “We are inviting people to take a break from shopping or their Saturday chores and join us for a cup of coffee, tea, or a cold drink and a home-made cake or two.

“The event is to raise money for the direct benefit of blind and deaf people in Walsall which are my chosen causes and we are looking forward to having a good excuse to put our feet up for a couple of hours.”

Admission to the coffee morning will be £2 for adults and £1 for children and people can simply turn up on the day.
