Employment services
In Walsall there are a number of employment services currently available for people with mental health problems:
- specialist employment advisers
- sheltered employment schemes providing a supportive working environment where there is an opportunity to get used to a working routine and build confidence necessary for other forms of employment
- schemes which are specifically to assist people experiencing mental health problems to keep their employment through periods of illness
- schemes to assist people in gaining new employment or training.
An Employment Support Worker (ESW) is attached to each Community Mental Health Team. This is called the Mental Health Employment Support Project.
