Walsall Council - Job application form consultation

In December 2008 Walsall Council issued a consultation document with the objective of seeking views about the council’s proposed job application form review.  In particular we were interested in views on a number of specific proposals including an option to remove the current equality monitoring tear-off slip system from the application form, an option to remove all reference to dates/age within the application form and the inclusion of the additional monitoring categories of sexual orientation and religion and belief - as per new equalities legislation requirements.

A number of organisations and individuals responded to our consultation request with some very useful comments and suggestions. We have collated these comments and suggestions along with the subsequent decisions related to the re-design of our job application form into a feedback document.
