Housing Needs and Demand Study 2007
The Housing Needs and Demand Study 2007 has been produced for Walsall Council as an update to the 2004 study. As new information has become available the updated study includes revised estimates on the need for affordable housing. The main changes take account of:
- the housing market (i.e., changes in prices/rents)
- local incomes
- supply of affordable housing
- a re-basing of household figures

These results will be used to develop a new Supplementary Planning Document for Affordable Housing which we aim to adopt in April 2008.
The current Supplementary Planning Document for Affordable Housing is available on our website.
House Condition Survey
We completed our latest stock condition survey in March 2004. It provides us with a detailed picture of current housing conditions across the whole of the Borough. The survey includes information about the housing stock such as: type; size and age of properties whether they are rented or owned; the typer of repairs required and information on the energy rating of properties. The survey is currently being updated and the latest version will be published in 2008.
