  • Aerosols - e.g. deoderant, furniture polish, air fresheners
  • Foils - pie/pastry cases, silver takeaway/frozen food containers, clean used aluminium foil, aluminiun milk bottle tops
  • Newspapers/magazines/junk mail/catalogues
  • All glass containers - cleaned food jars, wine bottles, beer bottles etc.

Please rinse out your food containers and squash your food and drinks cans.

There are many items of household waste you can recycle at the council’s recycling centres in Merchants Way, Aldridge and Fryers Road, Bloxwich. All the items marked * in the ‘No, thank you’ list above can be recycled in Aldridge and Bloxwich, as well as:

  • Shoes
  • Glass
  • Textiles
  • Garden waste
  • Clean wood
  • Engine oil
  • Scrap metal
  • TVs and computer monitors
  • Fluorescent tubes

We can also accept small quantities of hazardous household items such as car batteries, pesticides and paints.

Walsall Council now offers residents the opportunity to recycle all types of plastic bottles – milk containers, fizzy drinks bottles and more – at our recycling centres at Fryers Road, Leamore and Merchants Way, Aldridge .

Responding to requests from residents, Walsall is among the first councils in the West Midlands to work with Nottinghamshire-based company RECRESCO to provide special collection points, as it is not viable to collect plastic bottles in the kerbside collection scheme.
