Bulky collections service
The bulky collections service is the removal of household items for Walsall residents at a nominal charge. Examples of the types of items we collect, and those we don't collect can be seen in the list below.
We will collect:
- beds
- tables
- chairs
- three piece suites
- cookers
- fridges
- freezers
- wardrobes
- fire hearths and grates
We will not collect:
- builders' materials such as bricks, blocks, rubble
- garden waste
- garden furniture
- garden sheds
- window frames
- wooden fence panels
- complete fitted kitchens
- cast iron baths
Householders are allowed to present items for collection and the cost for each collection is detailed below. This sum is payable in advance. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit/debit card at the First Stop Shop in the Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall.
Charges
Charges are effective from midday on Monday 2 April 2007 and are reviewed annually.
- Up to five items excluding fridge/freezer £12.50
- Up to five items including a fridge/freezer (please note that if you have a separate fridge and freezer we will allow up to six items including these for this charge) £25.00
- Each fridge/freezer (please note if you have a separate fridge and freezer we will take both of these for this charge) £12.50
- You can take your bulky items to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Fryers Road, Leamore or Merchants Way, Aldridge - free of charge
You can book and pay for a bulky collection online using your credit/debit card or by telephone on 01922 653344.
Alternatively, cheques may be sent by post to: Street Pride, Waste Management, North Walsall Depot, Norfolk Place, Walsall, WS2 7BA. Cheques to be made payable to 'Walsall Council'.
The anticipated date of collection will be notified when payment is made. Once payment has been accepted, it is not possible to add to the items to be collected. We carry out collections for each postcode area as detailed below.
Please ensure that the items to be collected are intact and whole and are easily accessible.
