Contaminated land complaints
Contaminated Land team will investigate complaints made about land contamination. Typically, concerns are:
- Dumping of materials causing contamination
- Contamination running off land and affecting other property
- Contamination affecting water courses, canals or ditches
- Smells from contaminated materials
- Dust or other debris suspected as presenting a risk
All complaints received by Pollution Control will be reviewed and investigated by officers who have the most relevant skills to deal with the potential issues. In some cases it may not necessarily be Contaminated Land team that leads an investigation however all complaint investigations will include input from appropriate teams.
