Building Regulations Major Projects Team
As a section we are determined to provide you with the very best in Building Control and Associated services. The level of service you will receive from the Local Authority will not be found in any competative private Building Control Service. We have the advantage of local knowledge backed with a comprehensive background of historical data which will help you avoid problems on your project. We actively encourage pre-application discussions based on prevention rather than cure so getting it right first time saves your time and money in the long term.
When requested by the applicant or agent we try to work as part of the design team and we are happy to attend meetings on site or at mutually convenient offices to discuss proposals as they progress through to full working drawings.
New areas of legislation that may effect commercial proposals are contained within the Building Regulations and the Regulatory reform (Fire safety) order.
- Further advice on fire safety issues can be found on the Communities and Local Government fire regulations webpage.
The main changes within the Building Regulations are contained within part L of the documentation and refers to issues of conservation of fuel and power – as can be seen from the commercial application forms areas that need to be considered revolve around the extent of the works as to wether or not the applicant is required to provide consequential improvements to the existing buildings fabric or services. The applicant needs to be aware of this so that they aware of a possible increase to the cost of there project by up to 10%.
