European computer driving licence

What is ECDL?

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is a new European qualification that determines people's capabilities in computer skills. It aims to raise your level of competency in computer skills, improve your productivity at work and at home and provide you with an industry-recognised qualification.

How does ECDL work?

The ECDL covers the key skills of computing for use in the workplace and for personal use. It is divided into seven modules and each module must be passed before you can receive your ECDL certificate.

Who benefits from this?

You - You will have an up to date professionally recognised qualification, this also helps you receive the appropriate training therefore progressing your career.

Your employer - It will give your employer an understanding of your competency level in computer skills.

Is it worth my while?

The path is set for ECDL to become the most widely recognised qualification in computers. This is mainly down to the organisations who are monitoring and supporting it.
