Performance
As a council we need to understand:
- local community profiles and the main ‘equality gaps’ often
experienced by different communities. - national equality and diversity data and where this can be
supplemented by local data sources.
Equality and diversity data, both demographic information about the local community and information about different experiences and outcomes within the community, are needed to:
- improve our services
- address our priorities in the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and wider central government priorities
- contribute to the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA)
- meet statutory equality duties through Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs)
- our progress through the Equality Framework for local government
