Introduction to Corporate Assessment
Walsall underwent it’s latest Corporate Assessment process in January 2008, with an on-site inspection between 28 January and 8 February 2008.
The Corporate Assessment measured how effectively the council was working corporately, and with its partners, to improve services and deliver improved outcomes for local people.
The Corporate Assessment used key lines of enquiry (KLOE) to provide a framework to gather and assess evidence about how the council is working.
KLOE measure how well the Council understands its local community and neighbourhoods; how this understanding of local people and place translates into the council’s ambitions and priorities; the council’s capacity to deliver its ambitions and priorities and what the council is achieving.
We submitted our “self-assessment” along with supporting case studies, as part of the Corporate Assessment process in December 2007. Both the self assessment submission and supporting case studies can be downloaded using the links below:

Walsall Council’s Corporate Assessment Result
The Audit Commission published a formal report, summarising the findings of the Corporate Assessment inspection on 3 June 2008.
The Audit Commission gave the council a corporate assessment inspection score of three out of four on how we provide services for residents and businesses.
