UK European Consumer Centre
The Uk European Consumer Centre (UKECC) provides free and confidential information on consumer rights in the European Union and assists consumers with cross boarder disputes. The centre is a member of the European Consumer Centres Network (ECCN).
The ECCN provides a full service to consumers from information to dispute resolution to enable them to take advantage of the internal market. The ECCN concentrates on cross boarder issues.
The UKECC was officially launched as part of the Trading Standards Institute National Consumer Week November 2007 to help resolve complaints about traders and businesses based on the continent, particularly linked to online shopping, Internet auctions, flights and holidays.
The service is one of 27 across the EU co-ordianted by the EU Commission to help resolve cross boarder disputes while helping raise awareness about consumer rights and potential risks involved in buying from abroad.
