Community directory
Community organisations have been working in neighbourhoods since the late 1970’s and actively work with their communities to transform local areas and provide much needed services.
They already work in close partnership with local people, providing vibrant, locally run activities, sports clubs, older peoples services, life-long learning opportunities, youth groups, promoting volunteers and contributing to improving the quality of life in its areas of benefit.
Community organisations are one of the largest providers of part-time adult education and recreational classes in the borough.
Community organisations are well placed to deliver a range of activities, services and projects to all age groups to:
- Improve the quality of education facilities, boosting the attainment and achievements of our children and young people;
- Improve lifelong learning and educational attainment across the borough;
- Involve community groups and partners in the delivery of much needed services and projects;
- Help get people back into work through external funding opportunities.
Community organisations have always prided themselves on building good relationships between residents and other locally-based organisations; which contributes working with Walsall Council to build a better future, for the people of Walsall.
