Community Organisations
There are a number of community associations within the borough of Walsall who provide accessible centres which can be hired out or used for various activites.
View the Directory of Community Associatons and Voluntary Organisations (PDF 970KB) - venue hire and conferences facilities are on page 60.
Community associations have been working in neighbourhoods since the late 1970s and actively work with their communities to transform local areas and provide much needed services.
They work in close partnership with local people, providing vibrant run activities, sports clubs, older peoples services, life-long learning opportunities, children and young people services, promoting volunteers and contributing to improving the quality of life in its area of benefit.
Community associations are one of the largest providers of part time adult education and recreational classes in the borough.
They are well placed to deliver services and projects to:
- improve the quality of education facilities, boosting the attainment and achievements of children and young people;
- improve lifelong learning and educational attainment across the borough;
- involve community groups and partners in the delivery of much needed services and projects;
- help get people back into work through external funding opportunities;
- older peoples provision and services.
Community associations are hopeful that partnerships will build good relationships between residents and other locally based organisations; they already work with Walsall Council to build a better future.
