What has gone well in Palfrey Caldmore Delves CAP

  • We have achieved good representation from a wide range of services and agencies.
  • Two working groups have been set up to address the two main priorities of the CAP, which are parental involvement and community cohesion.
  • The working group on community cohesion includes various community leaders as well as the police, schools, education, youth service and other agencies and services looking at the dynamics of the areas we serve.
  • Parents have been involved via a workshop at Palfrey Infant School for educating parents and a baby clinic at Fullbrook Nursery on Friday mornings in partnership with Palfrey Sure Start and the health service.
  • Joseph Leckie Community Technology College has been working with the four feeder primary schools in an event called 'Getting to know you'.  Many pupils from all schools took part.  It involved teamwork exercises and a lot of interaction between pupils on the day.  The next step is for pupils from each of the schools to write a science fiction multi media clip and then work together to produce scenery, costumes, etc.
  • We have been looking at available data and have requested additional data about the CAP area.
  • We have been looking at how we will incorporate the voice of young people onto the CAP’s agenda and how we will work with the Local Neighbourhood Partnership (LNP).
  • The CAP is being targeted as an area to reduce child poverty. CAP members are undergoing outcomes based training.
