Adoption process

  1. Fill in the reply form.
  2. We will arrange an initial visit at your home
  3. We will contact you to let you know whether we would like to continue your application
  4. An application form will need to be completed
  5. We check your references
  6. You are will be required to attend a preparation group
  7. A decision about proceeding is made by the agency in consultation with applicants
  8. A written agreement is signed and we start a Home study. Prior to being presented to Adoption Panel applicants will have a chance to read and comment on the home study.
  9. The Agency's decision maker makes the final decision and you will be informed
