Bloxwich Leamore and Blakenall Retailers Traders Partnership

The group was launched earlier this year.   The group have been consulting with businesses and stakeholders in order to capture their key issues and concerns through the completion of a business audit.  This data collection has formed the basis of an action plan which the partnership will focus on delivering over the coming year.

The partnerships govern what issues they wish to discuss at meetings and what action they wish to focus on.  Particular activities are likely to include transport proposals, events, schemes to help reduce business crime, marketing and promotion, enhancing the street scene, environmental improvements and schemes to encourage inward investment.

One the key concerns raised by retailers and traders was the transport proposals for a Red Route along the A34 including Bloxwich High Street. The partnership continues to be consulted at each stage of the scheme design.   A final public consultation is planned for November 2007 and the works will commence in April 2008. This consultation has helped the traders understand the benefits of the Red Route proposals which will create better enforcement of illegal parking, 67 parking bays along the high street, new signalisation along the route and make efficient use of road space to improve traffic flow and journey times.

Bill Smith, Acting Chair comments “The partnership has been set up to give the traders and retailers a forum in which to discuss issues that affect their business operation and development.   We welcome anyone who wants to contribute towards making Bloxwich town centre a strong and lively place that people want to visit”.
