Bentley Shopping Parade
Background
Improvements to the landscape and highway around the shopping parade on Queen Elizabeth Avenue and Churchill Road have been through community consultation with residents and the Bentley traders.

Process
A series of improvements have been planned for Bentley local centre. These inlcude:
- Road widening
- The creation of additional parking spaces
- New street paving
- New shrub beds and trees, and
- A public art feature
The improvements were first identified in the Bentley Regeneration Framework Study and the scheme is an important ‘early project’ in the regeneration of Bentley. Landscape architects and engineers have developed a series of design options in partnership with the Bentley Project Reference Group (PRG) and following successful community consultation in November 2007 a series of preferred improvements were chosen.
It is hoped that the design and materials used as part of the improvement scheme will compliment new buildings such as the new library and housing development on the former Churchill Road Clinic site, and enhance the shopping area for residents and visitors to Bentley.
Timescale
Improvements will be implemented during summer 2008.
