Teenagers at an education centre will have their progress recognised when the Mayor of Walsall presents them with certificates tomorrow.
The New Leaf Centre in Pelsall Lane, Rushall, is holding its open day today (Wednesday July 02) from 10am until 1pm.
Key Stage 4 pupils, aged between 14 and 16, attend the centre which takes young people who are excluded from school and those at risk of exclusion. Pupils access a range of alternative curriculum programmes through the centre.
The Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Tom Ansell, will be at the open day and present certificates to pupils who have either progressed in subjects such as Numeracy, Literacy and Science or have improved in other ways such as in their behaviour and attendance.
Councillor Ansell said: “The open day will give people the opportunity to see the good work that goes on at the centre. I am looking forward to presenting certificates to its pupils whose efforts and hard work deserve recognition.”
