American choir performs in Walsall

America’s Centenary College Choir will be performing at the Methodist Central Hall, Walsall, on Friday 18 May.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Melvin Pitt and deputy Mayoress Abigail Pitt will be guests of honour at the event which starts at 7.45pm.

The League of Friends of the Walsall Hospitals is presenting the concert in Walsall. The choir is touring Great Britain including recitals in Dublin Cathedral, Lincoln Cathedral and Canterbury Cathedral.

They were founded in 1941 and have toured extensively in the United States and round the world. They perform a wide range of songs and music from Bach to Broadway, folk to contemporary and church music to opera.

Councillor Pitt said: “I am very much looking forward to this concert and welcoming this prestigious and well-known choir to Walsall.”

Tickets are priced £4 adults, £2 senior citizens and £1 for children aged under 16 and are available from the League of Friends shop, West Wing, Manor Hospital, Walsall. Or by telephoning the shop on 01922 721172 ext 6324.
