Can I smoke in my own vehicle?
Yes, you can smoke in your own vehicle.
Exceptions to this are:
- If you are the driver of an enclosed vehicle used as public transport, for example a bus or taxi your vehicle must be smoke free at all times whether you are carrying passengers or not.
- Vehicles used by members of the public, whether for reward or hire.
- Vehicles used in the course of paid or voluntary work by more than one person, even if the persons who work there do so at different times or only intermittently.
See the section on smokefree vehicles for more details.
