Street lighting

How do I report faults and problems?

Electrical items such as street lights and illuminated street signs are maintained under contract by Amey Highways. Please use the report form on Amey Highways website to report problems with such items. For out of hours emergencies, please call 01922 650000 (call Amey on 0800 389 1732 for emergencies involving street lights or illuminated street signs). The more information you can give us the better, such as, for faulty lights, is the light out altogether, going on/off, burning all day, intermittent? If possible please include the number of the column. If you cannot see this, please state the exact location or adjacent house number.

How is the public lighting service set up?

The council is working in partnership with Amey Highways (Walsall) Ltd to upgrade and maintain the street lighting stock, in addition to  standardising the lighting in the borough over a period of 26 years, starting from April 2002 within the PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contract. The Council monitors the project to ascertain that the service is delivered as set out in the contract.
